One vote separates school board candidates

Not so fast, readers who thought election news would be over after Nov. 7.

In North Branch, the school board race was decided by a razor-thin margin.

Candidate Aaron Gibbons garnered 2,256 votes to win the third seat on the board.

Candidate Tim MacMillan secured one less vote than Gibbons.

Chisago County Auditor Dennis Freed said MacMillan has seven days after results are canvassed tomorrow to file for a recount.

The Post Review was unable to contact MacMillan to find out if he plans to file a challenge to the results.
