NB wrestling, Sundly off to strong start
With Viking senior grappler Zack Sundly ranked 10th in the state by the respected Guillotine website, the North Branch wrestling team proved itself strong last week in the first competitions of the 2012-13 season.
The team brought home victories over Champlin Park (40-35) and Spring Lake Park/St. Anthony (64-15) in the triangular held at Spring Lake Park last Thursday.
On Saturday the Vikings competed in the Monticello Duals Invitational Tournament and defeated Nashwauk-Keewatin-Greenway 51-28 but fell to #12 state-ranked Little Falls 50-21, Bloomington Kennedy 37-27 and Annandale/Maple Lake 45-27.
Aaron Senne (138 weight class) and Sundly (195) went undefeated for the tournament, as well as for the season.
