Robotics teams selected as beta tester
The North Branch-Chisago Lakes FIRST Robotics Team 3038 has been busy the past month getting ready for the 2013 season. The team was selected to be a Beta Testing Team for new software and hardware to be used during the upcoming season.
“This is pretty exciting for us and will give us a chance to look at the new programs and help work out the bugs,” team leader Becky Leuer said. Mentors Jon Gamble and Tomy Cummings have been working with the programming team through this process.
In addition, Team 3038 is participating in a five-year longitudinal study through Brandeis University. All new team members have been given information packets to assist with the study of the effects of participation in FIRST robotics. Teams from around the nation applied and 184 teams representing all areas were selected. The study will follow participants for five years.
