Take a ‘Journey through Bethlehem’

Living Branch Lutheran Church in North Branch invites the community to a free community event to benefit the North Branch food shelf and “Food for the Poor” international relief agency. It’s called “Journey through Bethlehem.”

Living Branch members, along with other community members, have built an all-indoor, walk-through Bethlehem village as it might have been the night Jesus was born.

Stroll the busy streets to talk with shopkeepers, artisans and village residents, and even some Roman soldiers. Complete your journey at the indoor live nativity.

“It’s all indoors on one floor, including the live nativity. Come and go as you please during the scheduled time,” said event organizers.

The event will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, from 2 to 5 p.m. and will be located at 38180 Hemingway Ave. South in North Branch (in Living Branch’s former building east of North Branch High School). Watch for directional signs in North Branch.

Non-perishable food donations will be taken for North Branch Family Pathways Food Shelf. Cash donations for “Food for the Poor” international relief agency will also be taken to help build a safe and sturdy home for a family in Haiti.
