The North Branch wrestling team hosted and defeated Mora 40-31 Tuesday, Dec. 4; before hosting and defeating the Robbinsdale Cooper Hawks 63-15 Thursday, Dec. 6. The team then placed second in the Big Lake Tournament with 177.5 team points; ahead of Big Lake (157.5), Sartell-Saint Stephen (149.0), Saint Francis (137.0), Saint Cloud Apollo (122.0), Albany (90.5) and Rush City/Braham (64.0); and behind Monticello (186.5). The Guillotine has ranked the North Branch team as “Lean and Mean”. It has state ranked wrestlers Seamus Hunter (junior) eighth in the 285 weight class and Zack Sundly (senior) 10^th in the 195 weight class. Sundly and Aaron Senne (132 weight class) are undefeated for the season, as well as the team in the North Suburban Conference. The Vikings will travel to St. Francis for a conference matchup at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13.
