NB wrestling named ‘Lean and Mean’

The Vikings wrestling team has been named “Lean and Mean” by The Guillotine, while Seamus Hunter and Zack Sundly have been ranked eighth and 10th in the state, respectively.

Hunter, a junior, has a 8-4 record in the 285 weight class, and Sundly, a senior, is undefeated in the 195 class for the season. Junior Aaron Senne is undefeated in the 132 weight class, as well.

Meanwhile, the team remains undefeated in the North Suburban Conference.

Last week the team defeated Mora 40-31 before returning home and downing the Robbinsdale Cooper Hawks 63-15.

The team then placed second in the Big Lake Tournament with 177.5 team points, ahead of Big Lake (157.5), Sartell-St. Stephens (149.0), St. Francis (137.0), St. Cloud Apollo (122.0), Albany (90.5) and Rush City/Braham (64.0) and behind Monticello (186.5).

The North Branch wrestling team will travel to St. Francis for a conference matchup at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13.
