American Legion Post 139 of Harris hosted a nice turnout of folks at its Santa Day event Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Legion Hall in downtown Harris. Children hunted for money in a straw pile and could even Christmas shop for mom and dad. Santa’s arrival completed the day for many kids and kids at heart.
Over in Almelund, those wanting to experience a Santa Day from yesteryear got exactly that, also Dec. 8, at Amador Town Hall. Children of all ages got to sit and talk with Santa and Mrs. Claus, while others received Christmas bulbs personalized with calligraphy. Apple cider, coffee, home baked goodies and other Christmas treats added to the cheerful ambiance.
