The Rush City girls basketball team defeated the Hinckley Jaguars 67-46 to bring home its first victory of the season.
“The girls rebounded well from last week’s loss (75-22 to Braham, ranked #7 in the state) and started fast against Hinckley-Finlayson,” said coach Mark Henrich. “The team started the game with an 8-0 run and never looked back. The girls played better together and looked for each other on the fastbreak. The Tigers played better defensively, but they still need to improve on things before getting further into the season. Very pleased and happy with how they played.”
The Rush City girls basketball team has a 1-1 Great River Conference and overall record. The Tigers will face the Dragons in Pine City at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, before traveling to Frederic, Wis., to play the Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18. The Pine City game is scheduled to be broadcast on WCMP 100.9.
