Viking boys hockey falls to Richfield

The North Branch boys hockey team traveled to Richfield last week and lost 8-2 to the Spartans.

Mitch Patten scored in the first period with assists by Jared Axberg and Alex Miller.

In the third period Brandon Kratzke scored with a slap shot just inside the blue line.

Goalie Tyler Brykit had 27 saves in the first two periods, while Cedric Geldon had 12 saves in the third period.

The North Branch boys hockey team has a 1-1 Two Rivers Conference and 2-7 overall record. The Vikings will compete in a tournament at Wadena Ice Arena at times to be determined Thursday, Dec. 27 and Friday, Dec. 28.
