Doris A. Clausen, 98, of North Branch, died peacefully on Christmas Day at Ecumen North Branch.
Doris was born Oct. 22, 1914 in Gaza, Iowa to Fredrich and Minnie (Reimers) Siemers. She married Emil Clausen Sept. 25, 1933. Emil and Doris were blessed with fourteen children: Donnabelle, Leroy, Leslie, Cecil, Ardith, Jerry, Norman, Carmen, Ronnie, Donna, Shirley, Sandra, Audrey and Myra. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Emil; two daughters, Donnabelle and Ardith; and one son, Carmen.
Doris lived a rich, full life and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She spent her later life making sure her family all had afghans and 1,000 people had a warm, hand-crotched beanie. That was a lot of yarn and stitches. Doris loved to play her accordion, and before she became ill, she would entertain the residents of Ecumen Assisted Living where she resided.
Doris will truly be missed by all of us who loved her so very much, but we can all be assured she is playing the accordion for the angels in heaven. Bless you mom, grandmother, sister and friend.
Doris will be buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester in the spring. We ask, if you wish to direct memorials to Ecumen Assisted Living in North Branch, provide an awning that will hang over the memory loss patio in Doris’ memory.
Arrangements are under the direction of Grandstrand Funeral Home In North Branch. Condolences maybe left at www.grandstrandfh.com.
