Youth tour applications now being accepted

The Rural Electric Youth Tour is a journey through history, a glimpse of government in action, peer fellowship at its finest, and according to a 2012 participant, “one of the best trips you’ll ever go on.”

East Central Energy offers this seven-day, all-expense-paid educational trip to Washington, D.C. to high school juniors and seniors. The cooperative will sponsor two students on the tour June 14-20, 2013. To be eligible, a parent or guardian must be an ECE member.

As part of the application process, students write an essay on a topic provided by ECE. A panel of judges will interview finalists, and the top two students will each receive the trip to Washington, D.C.

Information on the tour is available at eastcentralenergy.com. Interested students may request an application packet by emailing cindy.rolain@ecemn.com or calling 1-800-254-7944, ext. 2022. Completed applications and essays are due at ECE’s Braham office by 4:30 p.m. February 15, 2013.
