Dragon hockey splits two

Perhaps paying homage to the mythical beast’s forked tongue, the Dragons split a pair of recent games.

On Jan. 8, the Pine City/Rush City boys hockey team, with Rush City team members Jake Kleinsasser, Conner Werner, Coltin Malchow, Blake Cook and Matt Haglund, traveled to Moose Lake and downed the Rebels 6-1.

Kleinsasser, Werner and Cook each made an assist to aid in the teams victory.

Last Thursday, the team traveled to Wisconsin and fell 12-3 to the WSFLG (Webster/Siren/Frederic/Luck/Grantsburg), with Kleinsasser notching another assist.

The Pine City/Rush City boys hockey team is fourth in the Two Rivers Conference with a 2-3 conference and 3-10 overall record. The Dragons will host Legacy Christian Academy (11-2) at Pine City Arena 7 p.m. Jan. 18 before hosting North Branch (2-13) at 7 p.m. Jan. 22.
