To the Residents of Rush City School District No. 139

To the editor

On behalf of the seventh grade math classes from the fall of 2009 to the current year, I would like to thank the community for its support and donations of pop tabs.  In September 2012, we reached our goal of collecting and counting 1,000,000 tabs to donate to the Ronald McDonald House.  This was possible because of your efforts to save the tabs at home as well as at work.  Not only did you help us realize the concept of a million, but also you constantly kept the purpose of the tabs in the forefront.

The 750 pounds of tabs were taken to a recycling center in Cambridge.  The center issued a check to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest for $525.  Ronald told us that this would help pay for one family to stay at the Ronald McDonald House for one week.  Thank you again for your help and we look forward to your continued support as we begin to collect our fourth million.
