The 28th Anniversary Chisago County Pheasants Forever Banquet will again be held at Lent Town Hall near Stacy Saturday, Feb. 23. The Chisago County chapter was one of the early chapters chartered in the now national organization.
The banquet begins with a social hour at 4 p.m., followed by dinner and the program at 5:30 p.m.
“With the cold weather we’ve seen in January but haven’t seen the past few years, we predict it will be an exciting evening to break those winter-time blues,” Tim Kane, chapter president, said. “It has remained a very popular event in recent years despite the in-the-dumps economy. It’s a chance to visit with friends and acquaintances and a good chance to win some of the top-drawer prizes we offer, including more than a dozen high quality guns.”
All past attendees for the last two years have been mailed a flyer with all program details. For potential newcomers, Kane reminded this is a family-oriented banquet, which draws a lot of women and kids as well as the traditional male hunter. All kids attending will be assured of getting a prize.
Purchase tickets in advance so the chapter can know how much food to order, and because only 300 tickets will be available, Kane said. Tickets can be purchased from any chapter member, at AmericInn North Branch, Chisago Hardware in Chisago City, Lindstrom Liquor Municipal, or purchase online at www.chisagopf.org.
Pheasants Forever is primarily about providing habitat for pheasants and other wildlife. There are about 80 chapters with about 24,000 members in Minnesota.
