Keller runs for Lent Township supervisor
Richard (Rick) Keller is running for the position of Lent Township supervisor. He has been a resident of Lent Township for the last 29 years. He grew up in the Forest Lake area, and has been in the area most of his life. He is a recent grad of Metropolitan State University (Suma Cum Laude). He notes he has great understanding of politics, and in particular local politics. He says he know the political process and has desire to do the best things for Lent Township.
He says the most important service that local government provides its residents is emergency services. Keller says residents are impacted directly by the sacrifice and service of local volunteer fire departments. He says he will continue to support this important service in the community. The next aspect of local government, Keller says, concerns roads and infrastructure. He says this is his strong suit. He has 42 years of work experience in the field, and says he will bring great understanding of road needs.
He has owned and operated Keller Excavating Inc since 1978. He has worked to construct many homes in the community. Some of the roads residents drive on were built by Keller. He has specific and direct knowledge concerning design and maintence of roads. During the Carlos Edge Fire that consumed much of Carlos Avery, he and others were called out to help. Brian, his employee, and Keller ran a firebreak along the south side of Fir Trail to the freeway, and were credited with saving all the homes and the trailer park. During the Halloween blizzard of 1991, Keller personally opened up all of Lent Township Roads with his grader, so the plow trucks could push it back. It was the only thing that could get through all the snow.
As a long time resident of the community, Keller says he would greatly appreciate any and all support of the Lent township residents in this upcoming election.
