The 15th Annual Chisago County Master Gardener Spring Gardening Bonanza will be held March 16 at North Branch Area High School, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The CCMG (an outreach of the University of MN Extension Service), in partnership with the Chisago Soil and Water Conservation District, have put together a line-up of classes and a diversified group of vendors who will be exhibiting new gardening items for 2013.
Speakers for these classes range from a vineyard owner to a local author to a University of Minnesota graduate student, as well as several University of Minnesota Chisago County Master Gardeners.
The master gardeners are also very happy to welcome keynote speaker, author, naturalist, and wildlife photographer, Stan Tiekela, who will be speaking about “Uncommon Facts About Common Birds.” This talk will present facts about some of the birds that people love to hate. Stan will challenge preconceived ideas about common birds such as the European Starling, the American Crow, and much more. This talk also includes a strong message of conservation and understanding.
Pre-registration is encouraged. Classes fill up fast as the cost is only $10 for the entire day.
For more information on the class topics (class descriptions), call the CCMG office at 651/277-0151, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
