Mary A. Peterson, 86, of North Branch, died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Ecumen Villages North Branch.

Mary was born in Hinckley April 30, 1926 to parents William and Lillian (Cameron) O’Donnell.  She was raised in Hinckley and attended Hinckley schools, where she graduated in 1944. After high school, Mary attended beauty school in Minneapolis.   She worked a short time at the Arsenal before she married Adrian Peterson Oct. 17, 1952.  Mary started her own beauty shop and worked out of her home as well as helping her husband Adrian at his clothing store in downtown North Branch.  Later on, she worked for Ball Manufacturing before she retired.

Mary will be remembered for her cooking and baking.  She was known for her rolls and buns that she made; family and many friends enjoyed her cooking and baking.  Her daughters and grandchildren were the most important part of her life, as she was always there looking out for them.   Mary loved gardening,  bowling and golf. She will also be remembered for her Irish heritage.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Jody (Martin) Johnson, of Almelund and LeeAnn (Doug) Studer, of Marenisco, Mich.; her five grandchildren,  Kenzie (Phil) Engen, Tyler (Kelly) Johnson, Lynsey (Christian) Gausman, Trent Johnson and Kelsey Johnson; her one great-grandchild, Sullivan Johnson; as well as several nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Adrian on Oct. 3, 1999, sisters, Ellen and Elizabeth, and great granddaughter, Britta Grace, on May 12, 2011.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch with Rev. Gary Guptill officiating.  Deb Aulich and Jon Ekstrom will provide music.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church Wednesday.  Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in North Branch.
