Five years ago, North Branch Area Public Schools reached out to its stakeholders for help fashioning a strategic plan for the future. Staff and community input resulted in our “Mapping Our Future Strategic Plan for 2008-2013.”
Mapping Our Future was a very ambitious five-year plan that reflected the values and goals of the community for the school district. Once it was in place, it became our mission as a school district to see it through and hold ourselves accountable to the outcomes. Each year we have reported to the school board and the community on our progress to insure that accountability.
We have now reached the end of that plan, and it has been very successful in guiding the school district. Many things have resulted from the plan, including improved student achievement, world language K-12, STEM curriculum, increased and enhanced community engagement, improved security, and much, much more.
Now we are asking for your help in creating the next generation, “Building on Success – NBAPS Strategic Focus for 2013-2018.”
Over the course of May, we will be meeting with staff and community members to create a plan that builds on what we have accomplished and addresses areas in need of improvement.
If you are interested in helping us shape our future, we have scheduled two community meetings for you. On May 21, we will meet at Sunrise at 5:30 p.m. On May 23, we will meet at the North Branch Area Education Center at 11:30 a.m. Both meetings will include free food and free daycare services if needed.
Coming soon we will also have a place on our website (www.northbranch.k12.mn.us) where you can provide us your ideas if you are unable to attend either of the meetings.
A strategic plan is only as good as the input received in the planning stages. We hope you will consider providing us your input. See you soon!
