Vikings girls basketball coach Dan Schindler has 415 career victories and has spent 28 years  coaching at North Branch Area High School. He’s decided to call it a career in coaching at North Branch this year. He’ll be moving onto Chatfield Public Schools next year.

He relinquished his coaching duties, but will still be teaching at North Branch for the next two years.

During that time, he’ll be serving as the athletics director at Chatfield on the weekends and Mondays.

The NBAPS School board thanked Schindler for his years of service to the district, and Director of Activities and Community Education Brett Carlson presented him with a basketball that has his name and “400th career win” printed on it.

He reached that coaching milestone in December.

I would like to bet him a 12 pack of Pepsi that Chatfield will not win the state football championship next year. Good luck to you Mr. Schindler.
