If North Branch Area Middle School eighth grader Conrad Almedinger someday makes it onto Jeopardy!, he’ll likely sweep the categories that have to do with geography.
At the Thursday North Branch Area Public Schools School Board meeting, Almedinger was recognized for winning the middle school’s geography bee in December, and qualifying for the Minnesota Geography Bee at St. Cloud State University.
He held his own during the competition in April, answering six of eight questions correctly, but didn’t advance to the next round.
“We are very proud of his efforts and what he did,” Geography Bee Advisor Lori Blomquist said. “Just making it to state is quite an accomplishment.”
