The Rush City fastpitch softball team handed out awards after finishing the 2013 season tied as Great River Conference champions and competing in five section playoff games.

Kayla Forcier, Abby Scherer, Taniel Schellbach, Chesney Grant and Mackenzie Sherrill earned All-Conference, while Lindsey Williams was All-Conference Honorable Mention.

All-Section awards, based on the five playoff games, went to Sherrill who led the Tigers to victory in three of those games; Sydnie Sybrant, with the best playoff average of .429 while scoring four runs; and Miranda Anderson, with the next best average of .389 and scoring 10 runs.

Team awards also went to Hannah Pavek and Williams, who earned the Tiger Award; Most Improved, Sybrant; Coach’s Appreciation, Chelsey Mell; Defensive Most Valuable Player, Sherrill and Scherer; Offensive Most Valuable, Forcier; and Schellbach was honored with the Golden Glove Award.
