NB softball rewarded for jobs well done

The North Branch softball team and individual players received several honors at the program’s 2013 awards banquet June 3.

Meagan Rollins, Kari Berggren and Sydney Mueller earned Academic Gold All-State honors. Rollins, Berggren and Mueller, along with Emily Trunk and Claire Peltier, were recognized as Academic All-Conference for carrying a grade point average of 3.886.

Kaylee Lofboom, Trunk and Mueller were named North Suburban All-Conference, while Erin Kvam and Mikayla Carlson were All-Conference Honorable Mention.

For team awards, Co-Most Valuable players went to Lofboom and Carlson; Best Offensive Player, Kvam; Best Defensive Player, Carlson; Most Improved, Sydney Meath; Rookie of the Year, Megan Carlson; and Berggren was honored with the Viking Coaches Award.
