Alyce M. Clover was born Aug. 1, 1918 to Charles and Eleanor (Johnson) Stromquist in North Branch, Minn. She lived on a farm south of town and attended Butnick rural school. After moving to town, she attended North Branch School and graduated from North Branch High School. She met and married Oren Clover from Amador and Harris. They were married Jan. 1, 1938 at Fish lake Lutheran Church in Stark, Minn.
Alyce was a housewife most of her life. She set hair for some of the local ladies in town. She did a lot of sewing for various families. She worked a short period of time at an awning factory in Wyoming and also a stuffed toy factory in Rush City.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church her entire life. She belonged to Ladies Organization at the church. Alyce loved her church. She crocheted most of her life until shortly before her death. She loved doing crafts. She loved hanging out with her very great lady friends.
Alyce is preceded in death by her husband Oren A. Clover; parents Charles and Eleanor Stromquist; brother and sister-in-law Roy and Lorraine Stromquist; sister and brother-in-law Bertha and Roy Olson; sister and brother-in-law Doris and Wilbur Eng; brother-in-law Harvey Brown; brother-in-law Lawrence Clover; father-in-law and mother-in-law Frank and Lydia Clover; and niece Rebecca Eng.
Alyce is survived by sons Orrin “Bud” (Carol) Clover, of Harris; and Mitchell (Michelle Sullivan) Clover, of Champlin; sister Rube Brown, of North Branch; grandchildren Catherine Bierlein, Gary (Kim Richards) Clover, Richard (Amy) Clover, Charles (Jody) Clover, Patrick (Tina Shivers) Clover, Jonathan (Megan) Clover; great grandchildren Olivia and Hannah Bierlein, Abigail, Jessica, Brandon, Shane, Jennifer, Jack, Deegan, Reid, Zoey Clover and Tyler Rogers; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and the great care givers at Gracewood.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch with Rev. Dale Stiles officiating. Music will be provided by Deb Aulich as organist and Jon Ekstrom and Kelly Rogstad as soloists. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church Friday. Interment will follow the service at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in North Branch.
