Desiree’s Dance Studio impressive at national competition

Dancers from Desiree’s Dance Studio in North Branch turned in some top performances at a national competition in Branson, Mo. June 16 to 23.

Congratulations to Desiree’s Dance Studio’s Competition Lines for an impressive national competition. DDS brought nine competition lines to Branson, Mo. and put Desiree’s Dance Studio of North Branch on the dance map in a big way. DDS competed in Branson June 16 to 23.

The DDS Crew Line and the DDS Jamz Line both are both national champions for their hip hop routines at Nationals, placing first in the 12 and younger groups receiving Diamond Awards (highest possible). The DDS Ruby Line also placed 3rd and 4th at Nationals with their jazz and hip-hop dances, both receiving Diamond Awards (highest possible award). The Diamond Line received a Diamond for both their hip-hop and jazz dances. The Star Line received a Diamond for their hip-hop dance and a Ruby (2nd highest) for their jazz dance.  The Crystal, Troupe, Pearl and Gem Lines received Ruby Awards in their dances. The DDS production of Footloose also received a Ruby. The Diamond Line received a Judges’ Choice Award for their Jazz dance titled “Stunning and Sophisticated.”  The Crew Line received the “Director’s Choice Award.” The Gem Line received the highest points in Jazz for their age category.  Maddie Houle placed 5th in all solos 12 and over, and Taylor Kosman placed 10th in solos 12 and under; they both received Diamond Awards. Maddie Houle also received a Judges’ Choice Award for being “Fierce, Fierce, Fierce!” All in all, it was a wonderful 2013 National Competition for DDS!
