Steven Todd Bistodeau

Steven Todd Bistodeau was born April 26, 1951, in Minneapolis, to Victor and Grace (Nordrum) Bistodeau, the third of seven children.  He passed away suddenly at his home in rural Sunrise Aug. 2, 2013, at the age of 62.

Steven lived in Brooklyn Center until the age of 9 when his father died and his mother moved the family to North Branch.  He attended school and graduated from North Branch High School in 1969.  He drove truck over the road for several years and covered a lot of territory from Maine to Washington State.  In 1974, he began doing carpenter work with his brother, Doug.

In 1975, he met the love of his life, Cheryl.  They were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch March 10, 1979, and shortly after they moved to rural Sunrise Township where they have lived ever since.  Steven started working at Jae’s Precast (now Royal Concrete) in 1983.  In 1991, he started working for his brother, John, repairing and selling new radiators. In 1996, he and Cheryl bought the business and he found his niche in life.  He thoroughly enjoyed being a business owner and he was one of the best at his profession.  In 1982, he took instruction in confirmation classes with his stepdaughter Suzie and was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund with Suzie at his side, something he took great pride in.

Steven is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Vince Hokanson and brother John Bistodeau, several aunts, uncles and cousins.  He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; step children: Suzanne and husband Lane Hischer, David and wife Rhiannon Hals and Michael and wife Amanda Hals; six grandchildren: Mary, Grace and Carrie Hischer, Nathan and Michael Hals and Zane Hals; five brothers and sisters: Douglas and wife Dayle Bistodeau, Vickie Labelle, Susan and husband Dennis Lockwood, Holly and husband Timothy Fairbanks and Jeff and wife Kelly Bistodeau; sister in law Suzanne Bistadeau; stepbrother Wayne and wife Natalie Hokanson; nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  He greatly loved each and every one of them.
