An incumbent, a recent appointee and three new faces have filed for three four-year-term seats on the Rush City School Board that are for up for election in November.
Filing by the Aug. 13 deadline were recent appointee Justin Wood, incumbent Brian Anderson, Matt Perreault, Scott C. Anderson and Teri Umbreit.
Brian Anderson’s first term was 2008-09 before voters elected him to his current term, which began on Jan. 1, 2010.
Wood was appointed by the board in May due to the resignation of Channa Tastsides, who moved outside of the district. One thing that didn’t change was the term of that seat, which ends on Dec. 31, 2013.
Board Member Carol Cook, who served from 2006-09 and again with a second term beginning in 2010, did not file for re-election.
Election day is Tuesday, Nov. 5. Winners will take the oath of office to start their new terms in January 2014.
