The North Branch Midsummer Ambassadors, Mikayla Carlson, Lizzie Anderson and Kaitlyn Johnson, had a fantastic time Aug. 17 representing North Branch at North Hudson Pepper Fest. The Ambassadors attended the reception hosted by the Pepper Fest Royalty in the morning and then were off to the parade. Following the parade, they participated in the Royal spaghetti-eating contest. The girls were in teams of four; each girl was given 1/2 pound of spaghetti and given two minutes to eat it. Although their times weren’t quick enough to win the competition, they did have a lot of fun. When they finished eating spaghetti, the St. Paul Winter Carnival Vulcans came looking for Mikayla and awarded her with a medallion and certificate for her “not so good” spaghetti eating skills. The Ambassadors will be traveling to Northfield for the Defeat of Jesse James Day reception, reenactment of the bank robbery and parade Sept. 8. Mark your calendar and join the Ambassadors. The reenactment is a must see.
