With Dr. Lori Zimmerman accepting the principal role at the Sunrise River School, North Branch Area Public Schools recently hired David Treichel as the director of curriculum, instruction, and alternative learning programs.
Treichel, 41, hails from Hugo and has been in education for 16 years. Most recently, he was the Instructional Technology Facilitator for the Anoka-Hennepin School District. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position; his educational background includes a history major from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a master’s degree in education from University of St. Thomas, and his administration license comes from St. Mary’s University.
“I am thrilled to be part of North Branch Area Public Schools,” Treichel said. “I look forward to working with the wonderful staff to maximize the learning potential for each and every student.”
Treichel is married to Shannon, and has three children: Olivia, 11, Eli, 9, and Delaney, 5. He enjoys trail runs, Nordic skiing, and is active in coaching and activities with his children.
“David is a perfect fit for our school district,” Superintendent Deb Henton said. “We are thrilled to have him and are looking forward to taking advantage of his many tools for our students and staff.”
