Chisago County Pheasants Forever Chapter will hold its 15th annual Youth Hunt Oct. 5. The event will again be held at Rocky Bay Kennel & Hunt Club near Pine City.
The hunt club is located at 57875 Lily Ave., Pine City. To get there, take Highway 70 east off of I-35. Go east about 5 miles, then turn North or left on Keystone, go one mile North to the stop sign (580th St.), turn right and go about one mile to the club house.
The event is open to all boys and girls ages 12 to 15 with a valid Firearms Safety Certificate. There is a $20 registration fee, and that provides a Pheasants Forever Youth Membership, a round of sporting clays, a guided two-bird pheasant hunt with a guide over trained pointing dogs, lunch and beverage and ammunition for the day’s events. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. sharp. Events start at 8:30.
Please bring your own 12 or 20 gauge shotgun and ear and eye protection if you have them. They will also be available on site. Also bring a blaze orange hat and/or vest. Let the registration officials know if you don’t have them.
Space is limited, so you must register in advance with Jon M. Olson at 651 248-5051 or online at firstname.lastname@example.org.
“It’s an exciting event for kids,” Olson noted, “and it’s also a great bargain because our Pheasants Forever Chapter picks up most of the expense.”
