Lock-in at NB theater
Sixth through twelfth graders: Are you looking for a fun, safe environment to hang out after the Vikings’ homecoming game? You won’t want to miss the annual homecoming lock-in at North Branch Theater sponsored by St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. You don’t need to be a member of the church to attend. The lock-in will start at 11:30 p.m. Sept. 27 and end at 6 a.m. Sept. 28. The event includes movies, pop, popcorn, pizza, karaoke and more. Cost is $30 per participant if pre-registered by Sept. 25 or $35 for late registrations. Registrations will be accepted the night of the event, but parents will need to complete the registration form giving their child permission to attend before dropping their child off. Annual garage sale
The Main Street Church of North Branch, 6500 Main St., is holdings its sixth annual garage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 4-5.
Annual turkey dinner
Rush City First Lutheran Church, 1000 Jay Ave. S., welcomes everyone to its annual turkey dinner Oct 6. Serving will be 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Carryout meals are also available. Dinner includes turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, squash, green beans, cranberries, pickles, rolls, pie and beverages. Advance tickets are available at the church office, 320-358-44076, and at Fabrics, Fashions and More. Advance prices for adults: $8 ($8.50 at door), ages 5 to 11: $4 ($4.50 at door), ages 4 and under: free. A Gospel service will be held at 9:30 a.m., and there will be music. Also included in the day’s activities is a silent auction.
Captive Free ministry team
Captive Free, a relational music ministry team sponsored by Youth Encounter, will perform at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, 600 Rush Point Dr., Stanchfield, at 6 p.m. Oct. 6. Everyone is invited to come and share inspirational music, personal stories, skits and more with this energetic team.
Youth Encounter is a Christian nonprofit organization that partners with Christian communities to strengthen their youth ministries. Youth Encounter facilitates over 200,000 encounters all over the world, sharing the Gospel with over 15,000 youths through its ministry programs. Swedish meatball dinner
The St. John Lutheran-Weber Cemetery Board will be hosting a Swedish meatball dinner from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 12 at the church, 28168 Jodrell St. NE, North Branch. Adult ticket prices: $7 (advance), $8 (at the door); children ages 6-12: $4 (advance), $5 (at the door). Children under age 6 eat for free.
Advance tickets will be sold before and after church Sept. 29 and Oct. 6. The last day to buy advance tickets is Oct. 6. Proceeds from the dinner will go to the Lawn & Maintenance Care Fund for the Weber and Bradford Cemeteries.
