Peggy Lee Keocher, 48, of Stacy, died Sept. 24, 2013, in an automobile accident.
Peggy was born Nov. 2, 1964, in Rush City, Minn., to Donald and Dorothy (Sorensen) Hestbeck. She was raised in Rush City and graduated from Rush City High School in 1983. On July 28, 1984, Peggy was married to Joel Keocher. They raised their family in Stacy, Minn. Peggy enjoyed her pets, especially her dog, Mia, who was a constant companion to Peggy after she experienced a migraine-induced stroke six years ago. She also enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, baking, bird watching and traveling. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her family and the homemade meals, holiday festivities, board game nights, and camping adventures they shared together will be cherished fondly. She will be dearly missed and always remembered.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Joel; two daughters, Christy, of Minneapolis, Becky, of Stacy; mother, Dorothy Hestbeck-Zitt, of Rush City; two sisters, Marcy Stoeckel, of Isanti, Judy Kramer, of Watkins; one brother, Ron (Mary Pat) Hestbeck, of Rush City; brother-in-law, Paul (Kenne) Keocher, of Mora; and by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Hestbeck; and brothers-in-law, Neil Stoeckel and Dennis Kramer.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 1 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rush City with Pastor O’Shea officiating. The soloists were Jon Ekstrom and Anna Torgerson. Pallbearers were Scott Stoeckel, Travis Kramer, Kyle Kramer, Justin Harer, Zack Schwartz, and honorary pallbearer Matthew Nielsen – could not attend due to military commitment.
