Tigers split schedule

RC volleyball loses to Onamia, defeats Maranatha

The Rush City volleyball team split its schedule over the past week by falling in three sets at Onamia Thursday, then returning home to sweep Maranatha Christian Monday night.

Sophomore Summer Garr led the offense with eight kills, three digs and one ace, while senior Alissa Mell recorded five kills and one block. Senior Jessi Bottomley and junior Kayla Nelson each added three kills with Nelson also earning two blocks.

Sophomore Sydnie Sybrant put up eight set assists, eight digs and two aces on the night while senior Taylor Youngbloom recorded 10 assists and one ace. On defense, sophomore libero Sammi Herberg added 14 digs.

The Tigers are now 12-9 overall and are fourth in the Great River Conference.

Rush City closed it regular season on the road Tuesday at Olgivie. Postseason play starts Thursday, Oct. 24. Seedings and location is yet to be determined.
