Michelle D. Mellgren, 35, of Chisago Lakes, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013. ??Michelle was born March 6, 1978, in St. Croix Falls, Wis. to parents Thomas and Darlene (Pohl) Mellgren. She attended elementary school in North Branch before moving with her family to St. Croix Falls, where she graduated in 1996. Michelle worked at several different jobs over the years. She had a beautiful voice and loved singing. Michelle liked taking walks and watching movies, especially with her three children. She was known for her adventurous spirit and contagious laugh. Above all, Michelle loved her three children. Michelle was much loved and will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Her struggle with addiction is over; there will be no more tears or fear, as she is now at peace. The family would like to thank all of her friends and family for all of the love and support shown to Michelle in her life. Michelle is survived by her parents, Thomas and Darlene Mellgren, of Chisago City; son, Marcus Udovich, of Chisago City; daughter, Skyler Barber, of Superior, Wis., and Dylan Barber, of Superior, Wis.; brother, Michael (Emily) Mellgren, of Stillwater; paternal grandmother, Mary Crouse, of Forest Lake; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her sister, Melissa; grandparents, Russell Mellgren and Alton and Mary Pohl, and her aunt, Annette Fredrickson.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in North Branch with the Rev. Jerome Hachenmueller officiating. Cathie Hendren provided music. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at church on Monday. Family interment was at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in North Branch. Serving as casket bearers were Marcus Udovich, Mike Mellgren, Tom Mellgren, Dan Mellgren, David Mellgren, John Pohl and John Nelson.
