Seeks Applicants
The Chisago County Board of Commissioners seeks two (2) applicants for appointment to the vacancies on the Chisago County Planning Commission. The positions are district specific appointments. The Planning Commission needs applicants from districts #1 and #4. The Planning Commission is to promote the proper planning and development of Chisago County. The Planning Commission is established pursuant to State Statute 394 and has the following duties and responsibilities:
This Board shall have the following powers with respect to the Chisago County Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance:
1. To adopt rules for the transaction of its business and shall keep public record of its transactions, findings, and recommendation.
2. To cooperate with the Zoning Administrator and other employees of the County in preparing and recommending to the Board for adoption, comprehensive plans and recommendations for plan execution in the form of official controls and other measures, and amendments thereto.
3. To provide assistance to the County Board and Zoning Administrator in the administration of the zoning and subdivision ordinances and shall review, hold public hearings and make recommendation to the County Board.
4. Such other duties as the County Board may request or prescribe.
Board members are appointed for a three year term. The meetings are held on the 1st Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in Room 131 of the Chisago County Government Center. The Board requests that Applications for Appointment be received by December 19, 2013. However, the Board reserves the right to extend the application deadline. Applications for Appointment may also be faxed to 651/213-8876.
