The North Branch boys basketball team lost 83-52 on the road last Friday to Totino-Grace.
The loss followed a 10-day break for the Vikings between games.
It was a slow start for the Vikings, who put up just 21 points compared to Totino-Grace’s 42 in the first half.
Although North Branch scored 31 in the second half, they weren’t able to catch up to the Eagles, who are 2-1 this season and have yet to score fewer than 73 points in a game this season.
Scoring leaders for the Vikings were junior Matt Blomquist and senior Travis Van Elsberg with 14 points apiece. Blomquist also had a team-high six rebounds on the boards. Senior Brandon Thauwald added seven points to the offensive effort.
The Vikings traveled to St. Paul Central on Tuesday and hit the road again on Thursday, Dec. 12, for a 7 p.m. matchup at Hill-Murray. North Branch also plays on the road Saturday at 6 p.m. against St. Paul Como Park.
