Vikings score two wins at home

NB basketball girls start year at 2-0

The North Branch girls basketball team had a successful opening week with wins over Minneapolis Henry and Duluth Denfeld.

The Vikings took advantage of home court last Thursday in the opener against Minneapolis Henry, where the girls showed no mercy in its 67-13 win.

Scoring was even across the board for North Branch.

Senior Haley Huset led with 13 points, while junior Sarah Davis and sophomore Morgen Coleman both recorded 11 points. Sophomore Courtney Selbitschka earned 10 points, while senior Mikayla Carlson and sophomore Kalley Hartmann both added six.

Huset again led the offense with 15 points on Saturday in her squad’s 46-32 victory over Duluth Denfeld. Selbitschka was close behind with 14 points while Coleman put up nine.

The 2-0 start to the season is under new head coach Jerome Huselid.

The Vikings hosted Irondale on Tuesday night and next travel to St. Croix Prep on Friday, Dec. 13, for a 7 p.m. game.
