Kathryn Arlene Jolliffe, 72, of Wright, died Monday, December 9, 2013. She was born in 1941 in Duluth to Charles and Bertha Pomplun.
Kathryn was raised in Wright and graduated from Floodwood High School. Out of high school she worked in the restaurant industry as a cook and a kitchen manager. In 1994 she moved to Rush City where she worked for the Plastech Factory. Kathryn worked there for ten years and then moved back to her homestead in Wright.
She loved the Christmas holiday and loved spending time with friends and family. Kathryn was a huge fan of the Minnesota Twins and could never miss a game. Kathryn also had a passion for quilting, and enjoyed her quilting projects with her sister, Evelyn. She was a lifelong member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Wright.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Karen Pomplun, Barbara Pomplun, and Carol Gustafson; and brother, Duane Pomplun.
She is survived by her children, Sandy (Charles) Mohr of Braham, Jeffery Maker of Wright, Scott (Melody) Maker of Roberts, WI, Kelly Van Dyke of Rush City, Bonnie Jolliffe of Rush City, John Jolliffe of Rolla, ND, John Mohr of Harris; sisters; Evelyn Markkanen of Cloquet, and Lois Kojo of Floodwood; 7 grandchildren, and 7great grandchildren.
Visitation: 1:00 until the 2:00 p.m. funeral service Friday, December 13, 2013 in St. Johns Lutheran Church, 1417 2nd Street, Wright. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Wright.
