By a unanimous vote at its Jan. 7 organizational meeting, the Chisago County Board of Commissioners appointed Commissioner Rick Greene as the board chairperson for 2014.
The vice chairperson will be Lora Walker.
In his opening remarks about the appointment, Greene said:
“I would like to thank you, my colleagues, for electing me chairperson for 2014.
“I look forward to working with each and every one of you as, together, we discuss and direct the affairs of Chisago County this year.
“I would also like to convey my thanks to the residents of District 2 and to all citizens of Chisago County, who entrust us, as the Board of Commissioners, with the important task of managing this business – a nearly $60 million annual operation, employing some 350 dedicated and hardworking staff, dedicated to providing you excellent customer service.
“As a member of this Board of Commissioners, I look forward to working with you, my colleagues, as well as our highly professional staff and hardworking community volunteers as, together, we address both Chisago County’s challenges and its opportunities during 2014.
