Man brandishing revolver robs Stacy convenience store

On Jan. 20 at 7:34 p.m., Chisago County deputies responded to Tim’s Country Cupboard in Stacy on a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

As deputies arrived in the area, a search began for the suspect, who was described as wearing a tan jacket, a red ski mask, dark snowmobile pants and boots. He was last seen riding a snowmobile westbound away from the scene. The snowmobile was described as being red in color and looking as if it were a 1990s model.

The employee at the store at the time of the robbery stated that the male walked into the business as he was working at the cash register. The suspect produced a silver revolver with a wooden handle and ordered him to empty the till of all its money. At that point, the suspect exited the business and left at a high rate of speed on the snowmobile.

A search was conducted in the area for the snowmobile, but the tracks were lost. Through an investigation, Chisago County deputies went to a house in Anoka County, which they believed to be the location of the suspect. A search warrant was obtained for the home, and the Anoka County SWAT team secured the residence. Three occupants were detained during the execution of the search warrant.

Located at the residence were stolen snowmobiles and a stolen trailer. Items were also seized in connection to the robbery. At this time no arrests have been made in the robbery, and the investigation is ongoing.
