RC boys basketball falls to Braham

The Tigers lost 86-62 to state-ranked Braham last Friday at home. Senior Brandon Koehnle and junior Dylan Fessenden led the squad in scoring with 18 points apiece, followed by ninth-grader Tyler Oscarson with 11 points. Junior Zach Melin added five points and four assists. Rush City is 3-10 overall and next travels to Ogilvie for a 7:30 p.m. game on Thursday, Jan. 30.

Viking wrestlers place third, RC in sixth

The North Branch wrestling team captured third place at a 13-team invite at Grand Rapids last week. The host team won with 235.5 points, followed by Aitkin in second place with 179 points and North Branch with 162 points. Next, the Vikings travel to Monticello on Friday, Jan. 31 for the Mississippi 8 Conference tournament. Rush City/Braham traveled to the same event, and took third with 179 points. Next, the Tigers host Mille Lacs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30.
