Knights best NB basketball girls—

The Vikings fell to St. Michael-Albertville at home on Saturday, 69-52. Sophomores Courtney Selbitschka and Morgen Coleman led the Viking with 15 points apiece, followed by seniors Haley Huset and Mikayla Carlson, who each earned seven points. North Branch has lost four games in a row, is 9-9 overall and 1-6 in the Mississippi 8 Conference. The Vikings hosted Hermantown on Tuesday and next play St. Francis at home at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13.

Fighting Saints close season—

The St. Francis/North Branch girls hockey team closed its season last Thursday in the first round of secion play after falling 3-0 to Elk River/Zimmerman on the road. The Fighting Saints finished 9-12-5 overall, with a record of 3-6-2 in the Mississippi 8 Conference. St. Francis improved on last year’s overall record of 6-18-1.
