The Rush City/Pine City/Hinckley-Finlayson gymnastics team closed its season Saturday by taking third place at the Section 4A meet.
North Branch captured the section title with a team score of 142.875, followed by St. Paul Highland Park with 135 points. The Tigers earned a score of 133.625.
Kylee Berube led the way for Rush City, just missing an individual qualification in the all-around competition by placing fifth with a score of 34.9. Berube took fifth on floor with a score of 9.05, sixth on the beam (8.875), eighth on bars (8.425) and ninth on the vault (8.55).
Bailey Murawski took ninth place in the all-around field of 34 competitors with a score of 33.175. Murawski placed 10th on floor with a score of 8.425, eighth on beam (8.35) and 11th on the vault (8.5).
Katie Meier scored a top-10 finish on the day, 10th place on the vault, with a score of 8.525, while Keyara Berube place 11th on bars with a score of 8.15.
Both Murawski and Kylee Berube competed in the individual state championships last season.
