Let’s Go Fishing is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping senior citizens, veterans, persons with disabilities and youth enjoy the experience of fishing and boating on area lakes in central Minnesota.
This year’s waffle feed for the organization will be 8-11 a.m. May 3 at Main Street Church in North Branch.
The North Branch Chapter of Let’s Go Fishing will host an open session at 7 p.m. March 10 at the AmericInn in North Branch. Let’s Go Fishing Founder Joe Holm will speak to area residents regarding the organization and volunteer opportunities. For more information, contact Rick Olseen at 612-419-8827.
Many participants in the program have not been able to get out on a lake for many years and in some cases it is the first time they have had the opportunity. Let’s Go Fishing utilizes a special pontoon that is equipped with a third pontoon for stability and ramps to accommodate wheel chairs. The trips are provided to the participants at no charge. The North Branch Chapter raises much of the funding through the annual waffle feed and silent auction, as well as from many sponsors.
