From the North Branch Police Department—
The community is encouraged to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of 911 dispatchers during their special week.
In the early 1990s, the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) received a proclamation to designate the second full week in April as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
All police, fire and EMS dispatchers are honored this week for the work they do. Dispatchers work different shifts to cover every hour and send officers home safely. They are truly the first responder on the scene. Calming the caller, sending responding units and gathering critical information during an emergency help officers stay safe and resolve the emergency.
The North Branch Police Department Police Union LELS #277 would like to take this moment to thank all our dispatchers at the Chisago County Sheriff’s Communication Center for all they do.
