Henton: Banners for business

We are proud as a school district to announce yet another partnership between the school district and the community.

Activities/Community Education Director Brett Carlson has been working very closely with community member Barb Hensch, of the North Branch Area Athletic Association, toward providing local business owners an affordable and effective way to advertise to the local community.

The “banner project” allows local business to purchase banner space in our varsity facilities. In the spring they will be located along the outfields at the baseball and softball fields; in the fall they will be moved to the stadium for football and soccer. We are very excited to offer this opportunity for our customers to, in turn, reach new customers as well.

The following 16 businesses and organizations are part of the first wave of the banner project:

  • Anderson Chiropractic
  • Post Haste
  • Cathy Carchedi (realtor)
  • Anderson Koch Food
  • North Country Coffee
  • Sanvik Agency
  • North Branch Lions
  • Robert Doohen (surgeon)
  • Quarterback Club
  • Dairy Queen
  • Xplode Sports and
  • Desiree’s Dance
  • County Market
  • Lakes United
  • Youth Soccer
  • North Branch Area
  • Education Foundation
  • Husnik Well Drilling

We are very grateful to the help we received from Barb as we navigated the many challenges that come with offering an opportunity such as this.

We take great pride in our partnerships. I wrote recently about another involving Project Lead the Way, and these are just two example of the many ways the school district seeks partnerships in its surrounding communities. New ways to foster partnerships for the benefit of the children we educate are always being sought. If you have an idea in that regard, please don’t hesitate to contact me at 651-674-1012.
