NB wins three in a row—

The North Branch baseball team had a whirlwind week while recording three wins and suffering just one loss to bring its overall record to 4-8.

Last Tuesday, the Vikings traveled to Monticello, where they lost 2-1 in a tight game.

The next day, North Branch hosted Big Lake for a 6-1 win. Senior Jacob Kari pitched a complete game and allowed six hits.

On Friday, the squad hit the road to face rival Cambridge-Isanti. The Vikings won 6-4 over the Bluejackets. Junior Nick Pilz started on the mounds and pitched six innings. He gave up five hits, struck out six batters and walked five before junior Charlie Linder entered the game for the save.

The Vikings kept their winning ways going on Monday with a 14-4 home win in six innings against Legacy Christian Academy. Senior Tyler Dolin was the winning pitcher after a complete game, including four strikeouts.

North Branch travels to Chisago Lakes for a 4:30 p.m. matchup on Thursday, May 15.
