The North Branch Midsummer candidates are in full swing. The candidates volunteered at the fundraiser for the Senior Center, serving hors d’oeuvres and dinner. They had a great time visiting and meeting people in the community. The candidates also helped at the annual Mother’s Day Dinner hosted by the Auxiliary, Legion unit 85. On May 17, the candidates distributed and took donations for Poppies for Unit 85. The poppies brought in money to use for veterans programs; the candidates brought in more than $600. On May 18, the candidates sponsored the 8th Annual Dessert Social. Each candidate brought her favorite dessert and one to be raffled off. There was a really good turnout, and the desserts were incredible. On May 21, the candidates were asked to volunteer for the North Branch Alumni Association’s Lifetime achievement Awards. The girls served hors d’oevres and had a lot of fun. The  andidates are hosting a spaghetti dinner at 5 to 7 p.m. May 30.  Join the candidates for this fundraiser and a great dinner.  The dinner will be at the Legion Hall. There are many more events on the candidates’ calendar, as well as mock interviews.  Coronation will be at 6:30 p.m. June 20 under the big tent in the Legion parking lot.
