At 8:35 a.m. June 8 the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office along with Rush City Fire Department responded to a plane crash at the Rush City Airport. The Rush City Fly-in was in progress when a 1936 Tailor J2 aircraft was attempting to land. When the recently restored aircraft touched down, it immediately veered off the runaway into a deep drainage ditch. The aircraft suffered front-end damage including a broken prop and broken landing gear. The pilot from Amery, Wisconsin was not injured. The FAA is investigating the crash.
