The Worlds Best Workforce meeting started at 5:30 pm in Room 116.
Board Members Present: Kirby Ekstrom, Linda Heidelberger, Randy Westby, and Superintendent Henton
Worlds Best Workforce
Superintendent Henton presented information on the Worlds Best Workforce which included legislation goals, performance measures, plan development, district plan, annual report, evaluation, and timeline.
The Worlds Best Workforce Plan (state statute, section 120B.11) is a comprehensive, long-term strategic plan to support and improve teaching and learning with the ultimate goal of creating the worlds best workforce. It is intended to serve as a foundational document that aligns educational initiatives that serve students pre-k through high school. It is based on five goals:
All students will meet readiness goals
All third grade students will achieve grade-level literacy
All students will graduate from high school
All students will attain college and career readiness
Close the achievement gap between all sub-groups
After the presentation, a learning activity was conducted at each of the tables.
The meeting ended at 5:45 pm.
