Glenn S. Parsons

Glenn S. Parsons

Glenn Sewell Parsons, better known as EJ, of North Branch, Minnesota followed his angels home on Thursday, July 10, 2014 after complications resulting from pneumonia.
Glenn was born August 4, 1950 in St. Paul to Connie and Oscar Parsons. His family made their home in Almelund in 1959. He attended the Almelund School and later graduated from North Branch High School in 1968.
Shortly after graduation, Glenn joined the Navy. He was a member of American Legion Post #85 and served as commander in 1989 and 1990. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion.
Glenn earned an associate of arts degree from Penn State University in automatic fire protection systems. As a journeymen sprinkler fitter and longtime member of Local #669, Glenn took great pride in the life-saving nature of his work.
On August 7, 1976 Glenn married his best friend and the love of his life, Jan Skelton. Together, they raised two beautiful daughters, Andrea and Ashley. Anyone that knew him would agree that he was a kind-hearted, friendly and adventurous guy who loved his family and friends and brought laughter and smiles with him wherever he went.
Glenn lived a full and colorful life; from flying airplanes and skydiving, to fast cars, motorcycles and speed-boats. He was proud to have blasted through his bucket list before most people even started to write one.
With the help of his friends, Glenn took great pride in the relocation and restoration of a local favorite hangout called Dintys. He spent countless hours envisioning, planning and collecting artifacts to transform his garage into the best bar in the county. He loved to host celebrations and make happy memories at Dintys, and it is there that his fun-loving spirit will continue to live on.
Glenn has now joined the company of his parents, Oscar and Connie Parsons; his nephew, Kevin Parsons and his favorite four-legged friend, Funneman.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Jan Parsons; daughters, Andrea (Jesse) Hankemeier of Walker, IA and Ashley (Matt) Pruner of Shoreview, MN; granddaughters, Cameron, Kaylee, Hadley and Jenna; sister, Linda (Jim) Carr of Sauk Rapids, MN; brothers, Keith (Erma) Parsons and Craig (Bev) Parsons both of North Branch, MN as well as many other extended family members and good friends.
A private memorial service will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund. A celebration of Glenns life will follow at Dintys in North Branch on Saturday, July 26 from 1-5 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch. Condolences maybe left at www.grandstrandfh.com.
